Men Together - Gallery 1

And the Gods Smiled
spectracolor pencils, 2011

At the time of this sitting, I had drawn both Rob & Onre each solo several times but they had never met.
At the time, I had discovered that the most popular of my prints on demand were anonymus.
This was created with that statistic in mind.

Andrew and David
chalk pastels, 1999

These men had not met before this pairing.
After the pose, as the models were dressing,
David expressed that he had Andrew's "excitement"
in his right armpit most of the three hour session.

Bath Encounter
drafting pencil, 1996

Both models were in very public jobs, one a TV actor.
Understandably, they both needed to be anonymus.
That gave me the chance to focus on each man's other attributes.

Comfort Zone
spectracolor pencils, 2005

This piece was both the 1st time these men had met and the first time I used red drawing paper.

Contentment
spectracolor pencils, 1996

After drawing the man on the right for many months,
he convinced his room mate to join him for this pose.
They were not lovers and claimed they had not even seen each other nude.
They actually both had underwear on but I took artist's liberty
and chose not to include the small triangle of exposed brief
at the man on the right's waist.
Luckily, they were comfortable enough posing together for their expressions
to reflect my fantasy of them as an established couple.

First Time Together
spectracolor pencils, 2005

I had previously worked with both of these men posing solo.
And they both agreed to this session.
The obvious excitement was an unplanned but welcome scene to capture.
They got together on their own subsequently.

Unframed, shipped in a tube $350.00

Greg & Drew, draft 1
spectracolor pencils, 2005

While reshooting my works for this site's upgrade, I came across this unfinished work.
I still don't know when I'll complete it but I am including it
because it already conveys the sentiment I wanted to capture.
Please let me know if you'd like me to make it available for purchase as is, for print on demand.

Hard Bodies, Tender Hearts
spectracolor brown pencil, 1999

...another 1st time together posing session.
The younger man on the left got a painful neck strain from this pose
but appreciated the resulting work when he saw it.
The more experienced man was very appreciative to be able to pose with such a "choice" man.

It's Only Natural
B&W charcoals, 1995

This was the very 1st time I drew a couple together and the 1st time these men had met.
All three of us were a bit anxious going in but once the pose was decided,
that discomfort turned to what is quite obvious.
We all were astounded at what was created. This piece remains one of my favorites.

The sold original hangs in the home of another artist.
