The Male Art of David W. Haskins
Furry Muscle - Gallery 2
Carter
spectracolor pencils, 1998

Met this man in New Orleans during a Mardi Gras celebration.
He was interested in a portrait and sent me a picture to work from.
I normally prefer to work live but that wasn't possible.
Sent him the invoice and a picture of the finished work.
Never heard back so now the original is available to the general public.
Many who have seen this work in person approve.

Composition with Seth
chalk pastels, 1999
Seth was eye candy for many months at Miami's nude Haulover Beach,
before a great friend of mine asked him to pose for me. This kind generous sexy man posed many times for me both solo and with others.
It was a real pleasure to work with and to get to know him.

Endowed
chalk pastels, 2003
I found this man on a site for escorts.
I figured, if they'll "escort" for pay, there's a good chance they'll pose.

Erotic Exotic
chalk pastels, 1999
A fellow artist friend introduced this handsome man to me.
We only created this one piece, which took 8 hours over 3 sessions,
with him in front of me on my couch, me on a pillow on the floor.
The background was inspired by the plants in front of my then South Beach garden condo.
Modesty concerns nessessitated his left arm over his privates.
His covered assets were even more impressive. This work is another of my favorites.

Henry's back side is just as wonderful as the front.
Can I have too many favorites?

Fruit Basket
chalk pastels, 1996
My title came to me before asking Richard to pose for it.
When I told the client who bought this piece that the model was the boyfriend of a Rabbi,
the client renamed it: "The Rabbi's Lunch"
Original Art: sold

Full Frontal Beauty

The first full color drawing of my former Miami neighbor Greg.

He Earned Breakfast oil pastels, 1996
This enlarged image lacks crispness because the full res image of this early work was mistakenly deleted. I've include it here because Andrew's masculinity still translates.
Original Art: sold

Henry's First Pose
spectracolor pencils, 2006
I met Henry through a site called "Big Muscle Bears".
We met for lunch at a mutual favorite restaurant in Miami's upper east side to discuss working together.
This first afternoon together was a success on many levels and marked the beginning of a long term friendship.

Here Today
spectracolor pencils, 2010
I was unsure if was going to be able to get this hot man to pose again,
so the title refers to the mindset of the afternoon.

Higher Frequency Man
oil pastels, 1995
The title refers to the saturation of the colors in this piece...
and possibly the model's bloodflow.
Richard wore a cockring and when he first got down on the couch,
he was rather engorged, so I quickly rendered that part of his anatomy.

Hunky Dreams spectracolor pencils, 1996
Met David when he bartended at a former Miami gay bar called "The Hole". At the time he also was a personal trainer and had a successful woodworking business.
This creative, extremely fit man also had a "no attitude" personality.
